HEMATIN is a unique formula of vitamins, minerals, and cofactors needed by the body to ensure proper absorption and utilization of iron, and efficient and adequate production of red blood cells. Hematin includes iron, copper, Vitamin C, folic acid, Vitamin B-3, Vitamin B-6, Vitamin B-12, and desiccated liver. Nutritional Considerations and Applications Most of the iron used by the body is required by the bone marrow to make hemoglobin for new red blood cells. Hemoglobin is essential for carrying oxygen from the lungs to the tissues. Women experience significant iron loss during menstrual periods. During pregnancy and breastfeeding substantial amounts of iron are transferred to the infant, greatly increasing the mother's requirements. The proper transport and effective utilization of iron are key factors during times of great need. Hematin is carefully formulated to provide the body with the greatest opportunity for absorbing and utilizing iron. INGREDIENTS: Hematin contains desiccated defatted liver concentrate, ascorbic acid, cellulose, iron aspartate, niacin, pyridoxine HCl, vegetable stearine, copper aspartate, hydroxocobalamin, folic acid, magnesium stearate, and a cellulose coating.
